Holdman Highlights

These words were written by a man who was both a scholar and a soldier, a man who created a literary world to perfectly mimic the one he saw before him. Through Tolkien’s life he watched the battle between good and evil rage, especially in the trenches during the first world war. The Freedom Panel features this quote as an homage to the terrific, inspiring story Tolkien created, and his understanding that the tools by which war is fought should not be celebrated, only that which they sacrifice, defend, and obtain: freedom.

The Tragedy of the Titanic
The sinking of the Titanic is often misunderstood as an unavoidable accident, a story of nature vs man. The tragedy is that had certain precautions been taken, had the class divide aboard not been so wildly overstated, and had several instances of neglect not taken place, many more lives might have been saved. With its 110th anniversary coming up on April 14th, 2022, we wanted to educate about, remember, and memorialize this heart-wrenching event.
Since the story of the Titanic is essentially common knowledge, we won’t bore you with all the details you probably already know.
The largest man-made movable object on Earth in its time, the Titanic was made in only 3 years, and hardly performed more than a lap around the block to test its capabilities before heading out to Southampton, England to pick up passengers for its maiden voyage. What made the ship ‘unsinkable’? Sixteen compartments for water to flood, four of which could be at full capacity before sinking. The engineers made a grave error in the design, though. They didn’t account for what would happen when those four containers overfilled. There was nothing to keep the water from running over into the containers on either side once each had reached max capacity.
That’s what happened in the 2 hours and 40 minutes between the time the massive ship collided with the iceberg, and when it finally sank. In 2 hours and 40 minutes, not even half of the 2,200 passengers aboard were loaded into lifeboats. Yes, there were not enough lifeboats aboard the Titanic to save everyone. However, many of the lifeboats were not packed to full capacity. In Lifeboat 1, a boat that could have saved at least forty people, there were only 12 before it took off, and Lifeboat 7 saved only 24, when it could have carried 65.
The Titanic was built inside and out to be a floating luxury hotel. The inside was modeled after the famous Ritz hotel: a pinnacle of high society. First class passengers were placed in lavish apartments above seven oak-paneled grand staircases on the top floors and enjoyed private bathrooms, fine dining and alcohol, a swimming pool, athletic courts, and let’s not forget about the dog kennels. (Two of these dogs were rescued by their owners and brought onto lifeboats.) The second and third class passengers made up forty-five percent of those on board. They were placed in areas with less access to the entirety of the ship, with long, confusing routes to the lifeboats. This divide in wealth made it so that most of those who made it to the lifeboats were those from the higher levels who were informed of the situation and could evacuate quickly and left those below to drown in the fourteen feet of water that poured into the ship within the first ten minutes of the collision.
Perhaps the devastating situation could have been avoided and helped if the ship’s captain had performed his scheduled emergency lifeboat drill the very day the great ship sank. The terror and panic of all the Titanic’s passengers caused them to act in self interest, which is the purely human and understandable course of action. However, if they had been shown what to do, it’s possible that many more lives might have been saved. Perhaps if the captain and his crew had heeded the seven warnings of icebergs ahead, the collision might have been avoided altogether. Perhaps if the first ship to hear the Titanic’s cries for help had responded immediately, it could have helped. The Californian’s ship captain and radio operator were asleep by the time the SOS calls came through, and they didn’t arrive until the morning after the Carpathia had already rescued the 705 survivors from the ocean and lifeboats.
Perhaps the sinking of the Titanic was unavoidable, perhaps it could have been saved through some different chain of events. However, through a horrible event, a few notable, sweet, and even amusing stories emerged. Survivors told stories of a preacher who stayed on board the sinking ship to hear confessions and offer comfort to those who were going to die, fearless in the face of his own demise. The eight piece band set up their instruments on deck and played what some believed to be the hymn, ‘Nearer, My God, to Thee’ as the ship sank and slowly stole their notes. In a stroke of brilliance, the ship’s cook drank as much whiskey as he could stomach, and stepped into the icy waters as the ship approached them. He swam drunkenly in a circle–kept warm by the alcohol in his system–until he was rescued. He reportedly went back to work five days later.
There were 2,200 passengers aboard the Titanic when it began its journey. 705 made it to their destination. Of the 1,503 passengers who died, only 328 corpses were recovered, 118 of them buried at sea. In remembrance of the upcoming 110th anniversary of April 14th, 7k will be selling a special ‘Titanic’ collection, alongside a special 7k exclusive 5 oz silver Titanic coin that will be released later in the year. Now that you know more about the story of the Titanic, you can also own a memorial to it. Most importantly, you can remember to take a moment on April 14th, 2022, to remember the Titanic.

Spring is one of the most exciting times of the year! Winter is finally starting to fade away and Spring is just getting started.
I understand that many of you live in areas where you don’t experience the types of winters that we do here in Idaho. We have had cold temperatures and snow on the ground for quite some time now. I hope that Spring brings warmer days and sunshine.
Sometimes it is hard to have hope for the future or to see the “sunshine” in our world today. We don’t have to look too far to see the effects of natural disasters, poor government decisions, political unrest, and war. We are constantly being bombarded with fearful information and forecasts of more to come.
Our message to the world is different. It should be different; it is one of hope. Part of our focus is to bring hope to the hopeless!
As we transition to a new season, let's do some Spring cleaning. I would like to make a few suggestions:
Let’s review and make sure our presentations are not focused on fear as a tool for customer acquisition or to promote our products.
Let’s change our verbiage if necessary and make sure we are not using language that implies we are giving tax or financial advice.
Let’s confirm we are always using appropriate disclaimers and the 7k Income Disclosure Statement when we talk about the 7k Share Plan.
Let’s make certain that we can always substantiate what we say about the 7k Share Plan and the products.
Lets ensure we are educating truthfully and encouraging prospective customers to do their own research as well.
We are looking forward to our first 7kX Convention in Las Vegas. It will be a memorable event. You will hear messages of hope. You will learn things that will make you want to grow and improve. Our goal is to arm you with tools you can use to bring hope to the hopeless! Our message is strong enough to stand on its own, without the scare tactics or hype.

7k is crashing Vegas May 1st-May 4th, and what we do in Vegas won't be meant to stay there. We will be partying, yes. It will be the kind of party you could tell your kids about, though.

Monday will be the official start of the FIRST 7k NATIONAL CONVENTION!
