Hawaii coin presented to American Idol winner Iam Tongi
American Idol winner Iam Tongi was presented a 5-oz silver coin featuring a detailed depiction of Hawaii’s landscape by 7k Metals CEO Jayson Arfmann during Tongi’s visit to Idaho for a performance last week. The coin, part of 7k’s Topography collection, is one of just 777 ever minted and highlights Tongi’s Hawaiian roots while showcasing 7k’s innovative smartminting technology.
“As an Idaho-based company, we wanted to thank you for visiting our state and sharing your talent with our community,” said Arfmann when presenting the coin. “In honor of your Hawaiian home, we’re thrilled to present this coin to you as a token of our gratitude.”
The presentation took place at a VIP welcome reception attended by 100 guests, just prior to Tongi’s sold-out performance at the Madison Performing Arts Center. During the concert, Tongi performed alongside the Rexburg Children’s Choir. The event also marked Tongi's second visit to the Gem State within a year.
The Topography Collection is known for its ultra-high-relief design, creating lifelike detail that brings landscapes to life. Produced by CIT, the coin's design features industry-first deep relief with internal recesses, making it a true collector’s item. With only 777 of these coins produced, Tongi was gifted the very first one minted in this exclusive series.
