From porch prayers to precious metals
Derek French asked for six hundred people to help. 7k Metals delivered—and along the way, it even funded his favorite hobby
What has 7k Metals done for Derek French? It’s helped fund his golfing habit for one.
“I’m an avid golfer, and so the way I look at it, I play golf for free for helping others understand precious metals,” he said.
All joking aside, French’s 7k experience has been so successful, he had to ask God to slow things down at one point.
“Usually I do all my praying on the porch. One day I went out to my porch, and I said, ‘Send me six hundred people to help,’ so I had to go back out and say, ‘I didn’t ask you to send them all at once,’” he said.

His whole team has always been about helping others—“people flock to that,” he said. In the last two years, his team got nimble, focusing on fractional gold and silver as a way to hedge against inflation. “We’re picking up some momentum off of that,” he said.
Much of the reason for increased interest comes through soundmoney. French said people are latching onto the idea that for $149, they can accumulate assets with less worry. “The trust aspect of 7k Metals is when you order something, you’re going to get what you order. It’s always been peace of mind for me,” he said.
“Right now, according to our 7k charts, an ounce of gold is $3,300, and an ounce of silver is 38 bucks. Think about that for a minute as far as who can afford, on a normal salary, a $3,300 ounce of gold,” he said. “And so the way I see it, how many can afford $10 towards an ounce of gold? Now you’ve touched a lot of people.”
If you ask French, buying precious metals is not an investment; it’s an exchange in value. “If you commit to $10 a month in your soundmoney wallet, you’re not really buying anything; you’re trading worthless currency for something of value,” he said.
French said he and his team get a real kick out of helping families earn a $250 or $500 check because it allows Mom and Dad to go out to dinner or pay the electric bill. Once you’ve had that experience helping others, you want it again.
“It’s not a get-rich-quick thing,” he said. “I’ve been in this business four years. I’m not an Executive Gold or Presidential Gold, but inside I am because I feel like if I can help if I can help this couple that’s struggling to save some assets and make an extra $250, what have I done? I’ve changed their lifestyle.”
