HOPE - IMPACT - LEGACY
It's back-to-school season! What are you going to learn next?
"Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death." – Albert Einstein
One of the secrets to a happy life is lifelong learning.
But not everyone loves the idea of learning. When we reflect on school, how many of us didn’t thrive in the traditional school model? Sometimes a bad K-12 experience leaves us with a bad taste in our mouth for “education.”
But the beauty of being an adult is that we get to choose what we study—now is the time to chase our curiosities! This leads to a richer, more abundant life. Need more reasons to keep learning? Consider this:
• Continued learning keeps dementia at bay. According to alzheimers.org, learning a new skill and reading can both help prevent Alzheimer’s and other dementias.
• The more you know, the better conversationalist you will be. When you can discuss myriad topics with myriad people, just imagine how your network will grow.
• Learning new things adds richness and purpose to your life. For example, it’s never too late to learn a new language—and that might embolden you to take that trip to Italy or France! If traveling isn’t your thing, imagine the satisfaction of learning how to teach a young child to read and then using that know-how as a local school volunteer. There’s no greater gift than sharing your time.
• Options for continued learning are convenient and plentiful. Do you like listening to something while tackling a menial task? Consider subscribing to a compelling podcast. Is interpersonal learning more your speed? Join a writing group at your local library. Have trouble sleeping? Take an online course on the topic of your choice and maximize those sleepless hours.
Albert Einstein said, “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.” We believe that’s true, and we believe in you. The more you stretch yourself intellectually, the better person you’ll become, and the more you’ll contribute to others within your sphere of influence. And there’s nothing smarter or sweeter than that.

Collectibles We Love
SOLAR SYSTEM – Mercury 17-gram silver coin
Rock solid, teeny-tiny, and reliably slow-moving, here comes Mercury to join the Solar System series! It’s hard to spot Mercury from Earth, as it's closer to the Sun than we are, but on this Silver coin you get an up-close view of the smallest planet in the Milky Way. Selective Gold gilding acts as surrounding stars, and Mercury itself glistens with earthy hues and gravelly textures.
ANCIENT GREECE – Wine Grapes 1/2-gram gold coin
A grape cluster in ancient Greece was the symbol of one guy: Dionysus, god of wine! In the early 8th century BC, the Greek colony of Naxos was the first to really begin worshipping Dionysus and minting his likeness onto all of their coins. This half-gram Gold piece is a throwback to when any coin coming out of Naxos was designed with at least a few grapes to honor the wine god!
BLACK SWAN 2-oz silver coin
Settled against a Silver field, a Black Swan idles on the reverse of this coin, lazing above an abrupt and irregular edge. It is back to back with its direct inverse, a white swan against a darkened Silver field. Cup the semicircle coin in your hand and you’ll be able to study both swans simultaneously, admiring their contradictory yet complementary beauty.
UNDERLOOK – Undercat 1-oz silver coin
Cat lovers, commence cooing! The Underlook collection gives us a rare perspective of our furry friends (or fluffy fiends, depending on the day) with this issue. Most felines don’t expose their undercarriages unless they really trust you. This one doesn’t seem to have that inhibition. Go on, give her some love!
