Some advisors suggest doubling down on gold
In a bold move, some financial advisors are bumping up recommended percentages of savings in precious metals, now suggesting upwards of 20 percent should be the target, U.S. News reports.
"If you study financial history, you will see a strong benefit to having around a 20 percent allocation to gold in your portfolio," Nate Byers, lead advisor and founder at Calculated Wealth in Madison, Wisconsin, is quoted as saying in a May 2025 article.
Others maintain their more conservative numbers, and the majority of recommendations still land between 5 and 20 percent.
