Coin World highlights First Pitch coin

On Aug. 21, coin-industry website Coin World published an article about 7k Metals' First Pitch, a coin noteworthy because it will be the final Miles Standish coin to be produced.

The article states, "Two years after the passing of world-renowned numismatist Miles Standish, 7k Metals revealed exclusive coins carrying his design concept. The design, First Pitch, combines Standish’s love for numismatics and baseball.

"The high-relief, baseball-themed collectible coin reflects one of Standish’s earliest design concepts."

Standish was one of the most influential figures in numismatics, building his career around minting and grading. But when he took a swing at coin design with this baseball-themed concept, no producer would pick it up. Standish refused to give up on design and later partnered with 7k and CIT to produce many wildly successful collections. Two years after his death, 7k is proud to have produced his original baseball design.
